Saturday Plans

Charles & Tyler got home safely last night. It was really good to see them. We are going to spend the afternoon with them. My mom and dad are going with us to Moonlite Bar-be-cue. It is a great restaurant. The boys will do some damage there!

This morning I am officiating at Rayburn Shoulder's funeral. It is a privilege to remember a member of our church. It is also a privilege to preach the gospel anywhere at anytime. I know there will be people attending the funeral who do not know God. I am excited about sharing Jesus with them. I know for some of them this will be the only chance I have of sharing God's good news with them. I believe for the anointing of the Holy Spirit and know that His Word never comes back void.

Tonight will focus on the service tomorrow and review my sermon notes. I am preaching on "The Power to Serve." I will teach on the great commission and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I believe people will receive the baptism tomorrow for the first time and others will experience a fresh filling of His Spirit.

Charles & Tyler

Charles and Tyler are coming home tonight. There spring break begins. I think it might snow tomorrow so it does not seem like spring. There spring break is really early but Cathy and I are glad they are coming home. We were suppose to be in a missions meeting in Springfield last month but the ice storm changed our plans. We have not seen them since Christmas. That might not seem like a long time but it does to us. We are going to take advantage of this week as much as possible.

Procrastination

I am afraid I have been procrastinating and now I am going to pay for it. I should have done by taxes earlier but I didn't. The boys need the info so they can fill out financial aid forms but I have not go them done. This weekend is going to be spend getting everything together for my appointment with my CPA on Monday. This is not exactly how I want to spend the weekend but I have no choice. It is my fault and I have to pay the price. When will I ever learn that procrastinating never works. I always pay in the end.

What are you putting off on tomorrow that you ought to do today? I promise you will pay a price. Do it now!

Dinner

Last night Cathy and I had dinner with Sarah and Ross. We feel so blessed to live close enough to them to do this. So many ministers live away from their families and only get to see them a few times a year. Cathy and I have dinner with them every Tuesday night. They will always come for that free meal! We enjoy it and know we are blessed.

I also feel blessed to be able to have dinner with my spiritual family tonight. I love our Wednesday meals. It is a great time to share together. God's church is a family and I believe there is power in sharing a meal together. Something spiritual happens when God's children come together and fellowship with one another. I hope I get to share a meal with you tonight. Remember the dinner cost just $4.00 for an adult and $2.00 for a child. The time for the dinner is 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Joy

Is it possible to have joy in the midst of difficult circumstances? I believe it is but I believe it is supernatural. I believe that those of us that have the Holy Spirit living within us, can experience joy in the midst of sorrow and difficulty. This does not mean that we will not experience grief or pain. It does mean that our identity is not based upon our circumstances or our performance but is based upon whose we are. We belong to Jesus. Nothing and no one can take that away from us. That is why we can have joy. You belong to the king. You are his, no matter what. Rejoice in your salvation. Choose to praise God any how. Don't let something or someone steal your laughter. There is joy in the morning.

Business meeting

We had a wonderful business meeting. We reported that our income in 2008 increased. When you consider all that happened in 08 and state of the economy, that is a real miracle. We experienced the faithfulness of God. I am so thankful to God for all he has done! God is good.

We elected new officers: Rick Fueger, Bill Rhodes, and Jerry Eshbaugh were elected as deacons. Neil Wallace was chosen to serve as a trustee and Diane Wright is the board secretary. We looked forward in 2009 and are excited about the building improvements we are going to make. Again, God is good.

In a few weeks we are going to have our "Conference on the Holy Spirit" with Dr. Gary Denbow. I am believing for an awesome time in God's Word and in the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Again, God is good.

Come rejoice with us and celebrate the goodness of God.

Home

Cathy and I got home yesterday. We had a wonderful time in Mexico. The place we stay is beautiful and the weather is wonderful but that is not why we like to go. It is the people. The officers of Assembly of God World Missions are great people. They treat Cathy and I well. They are down to earth people. They love God and His mission. We love to be around them and to get to know them. The place and weather were beautiful but the people made the trip. Isn't that true of everything? People make the difference.

Mexico

Cathy and I are in Mexico attending the Regional Missions Conference. I serve as the Kentucky Distrist Missions Director. This week we will meet with the AGWM executive committee, missionaries from around the country, and the mission awareness team. It is exciting to hear about what God is doing around the world. We also get a little sun and shopping time. I only have internet access for 24 hours so this wil be my last post until I get home.

All the District Mission Directors come and we meet with the World Mission directors, Regional directors, and missionaries from throughout the world. We will leave on Monday and come home on Friday. Tuesday is a free day for Cathy and I. We will get to go shopping and spend some time at the beach. Wednesday and Thursday I am in meeting from 9:00 a.m. till 9:00 p.m. It is a great time. If I do I will try to keep you updated. I hope to get more consistent in my posting.
