Missions

This morning I spoke to one of our missionaries. Steve and Deanne Turley are missionaries to Belgium. They lead a ministry called “Students for Christ.” They actually minister at a college that is officially “atheist.” What a challenge! Unfortunately reaching atheist for Jesus is not their only challenge. They face a huge financial challenge as well. The dollar is devaluing and the Euro is getting stronger. That means their missions money does not go as far as it used to. The exchange rate is eating up their finances. Here is what Steve and Deanne can do with nine dollars:
1) Buy one gallon of gas for their car
2) Purchase one gallon of milk
3) Buy one Big Mac Meal at McDonalds

Can you imagine trying to make it at those prices? It is making it tough. Steve is back in the states raising some finances. I am having lunch with him next week to try to encourage him. Please keep Steve and Deanne in prayer.
