Proverbs 21:13 “Those who shut their ears t0 the cries of the poor will be ignored in their own time of need.”
Observation
1) To shut my ears to the cries of the poor means to ignore them. I turn away so that I cannot see or hear the needy.
2) I will reap what I sow if I help the poor in their time of need, others will help me in my time of need.
Application
Be a giver. Look for opportunities to help the needy. Pay attention to the needs around me. Do not put my head in the sand.
Prayer
Father, give me a generous heart. Remove selfishness from me. Allow me to hear the cries of the poor, needy, and hurting.
