I met with a representative of Western Kentucky Teen Challenge today. First Assembly is hosting a Henderson banquet on Thursday, August 7. The Teen Challenge center is growing and thriving. I had the privilege of being on the first board that helped begin the ministry. First A/G was one of the first churches to support the ministry. It will be good to partner with the ministry again. Teen Challenge is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. It was started by David Wilkerson in New York City. A famous book and movie was produced about it "The Cross and the Switchblade." If you have not read it, get it. It is wonderful to support a ministry with a long successful track record.
This is actually one of two opportunities you will have to support missions this summer. On July 31 we will host a banquet for Ryan Delling.
I encourage you to attend both banquets. First A/G is called to reach its world.
