Last night my Dad and I took Tyler and Michael to a Saint Louis Cardinals game. We had a good time even though the Cardinals lost and we didn't get home until 2:00 a.m. I believe discipleship is all about influence. Michael has stayed two weeks with us and I have tried to use that time to have influence in his life. I think he has had a pretty good time. He has seen Ice Age 3, attended the tent revival, went to the meals with the Hollmers, Holiday World with Charles and Tyler, and a Saint Louis Cardinals game. Not bad, especially since it has been all free (for him.) It is all about relationship and influence. Discipleship is not a 13 week study. Jesus influenced his disciples because he had a relationship with them. That is a great lesson. You want to influence someone for Christ? You build and develop a relationship with them. That is discipleship.
