1 Samuel 30: 6 "David was now in serious trouble because his men were very bitter about losing their wives and children, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the Lord his God."
ObservationDavid's life was at stake. His soldiers were ready to turn on him. They were talking of killing David because their wives and children had been kidnapped. David had no one to turn to. Rather David had no human being to turn to. David could and did turn to God. David knew how to find strength in the Lord. David understood how to refresh and renew himself in God.
Application
This verse goes right along with what I am going to preach Sunday morning. One of the works of the Holy Spirit is to "quicken" us. The word quicken means to rejuvenate, refresh, or renew. It means that when we are weak we can find strength in God. This is something that every believer can do. We can do to God when we are weak and weary and find life and strength in the presence of God.
Prayer
Father I ask for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit today. Give me the power to accomplish your will Rejuvenate me and refresh my spirit. I need a fresh touch from you. In Jesus Name.
