One thing about being a pastor, you never know what is going to happen on a given day or in a given service. Yesterday as I began to preach I heard some screams. I did not know what was going on at first, but then I realized that someone was sick and may have been having a heart attack. Needless to say, that changed the order of service. I stopped preaching. Those in the medical field came and began treating the person, the church began to pray and worship God. It all happened in a flash. Fortunately the person was revived and went to the hospital. I am going to visit him this morning. After the ambulance left, I continued to preach, and God moved in the service. I believe several lives were touched. It is another lesson to teach me to be prayed up because you never know what is going to take place.
Are you "prayed up?" You may face an emergency today. Are you spiritually ready? One other thing. The church leadership has discussed and planned what would happen if something like this occurred. We knew what to do. We were prepared and it could have saved some one's life. I believe in being "prayed up." I also believe in being prepared.
