Scripture Psalm 105: 1 Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.
Observation These are commands not suggestions. They are not optional. We are to:
1) Give thanks to the Lord
2) Proclaim his greatness
3) Let the whole world know what he has done.
Mission's flows out of a heart of gratitude. We proclaim his greatness because we are thankful for what he has done. Because he saved me, I want to give others the opportunity to be saved. Mission's flows out of a thankful heart.
4) Missions is not just a new testament concept. It was always Gods intentions to reach the world. God wanted the whole world to know about him not just the nation of Israel. Israel is God's chosen people and they produced the Messiah. We are to always be grateful to them but the whole world is God's people. Jesus died for everyone.
Application I must be grateful for what God has done for me. A thankful heart is a giving heart.
Missions must be a priority. God wants us to proclaim his greatness to the whole world. I must keep the big picture ever in front of me. If I take care of Gods business, he will take care of my business.
Prayer Father I thank you for your blessings. I want to live a contented life. I do not want to focus on what I do not have but I focus on what you have done. Thank you for everything. I now ask that you will enable First A/G to send a missionary to every nation of the world. Enable us to proclaim your greatness to the whole world.
