Last night was a great night. We had the opening service of our spring revival. Evangelist Elaine H0llmer is out guest. She preached a great word from Genesis about spiritual authority and then we had a great time around the altars. I can personally confirm two of the Words of Knowledge being right on. They were specific to the individuals and there is no way she could have known ahead of time. When I got home last night I was grateful for two things:
1) We believe the 1 Corinthian 12 gifts are for today.I am thankful that we believe and experienced the Word of Knowledge last night. It built up the person and the body.
2) We honor women in ministry.
I know there is a lot of controversy in the body of Christ over this. The truth is we all have our own denominational lines when it comes to the teachings of Paul concerning women in ministry. I always get a kick out of denominations that refuse to allow women to minister but allow them to cut their hair and wear makeup. They want their women to look good while they are silent! I am glad that we fall on the side of honoring women and allowing them to be used in the gifts and to allow them to use their gifts. Last night was clear evidence of God anointing a woman to minister to others.
I am looking forward to the remaining services. We are meeting tonight and tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m.
